CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Publix Super Markets Inc. announced Monday it has signed a lease for a third store in the greater Charlotte area.
The store will be at the southwest quadrant of the intersection of Matthews Mint Hill Road and Lawyers Road in Charlotte.
The shopping center, Mint Hill Commons, will feature a 49,000-square-foot Publix supermarket as well as other shops and restaurants. The project also includes a drive-thru pharmacy.
The grand opening date for Mint Hill Commons will depend on several factors, including permitting and completion of the store's construction; however, the opening is tentatively planned for late 2014.
Publix announced its first two North Carolina locations in 2012:
- In Ballantyne, at Providence Road West and Johnston Road, opening in early 2014.
- In greater Charlotte, at the intersection of South Boulevard and Iverson Way, opening in late 2014.
